Platform Engineer

Primary mission:

As a Platform Engineer, you will contribute on the infrastructure, configuration tuning, provisioning, monitoring, security, and performance of the data platform resources and technologies. You’ll be integrated in the Data Platform domain.

As a member of the Data Platform team, you will interact with Data Engineers and Platform Engineers to understand data on infrastructure and logic sides.

Core Activities

• Working on the infrastructure automation to reduce manual steps and the operations time.
• Develop new Terraform modules.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues
• Improving the logs and monitoring systems.
• Improving the alerts systems.

Experience working on:

• Architecture for streaming and batch processing solutions.
• Data modeling and Data driven solutions architecture.
• Experience in Performance and Reliability of distributed environments and microservices.
• Big Data Frameworks (1+ year)
• DevOps for CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (1+ year)
• Cloud Platform: Azure, K8s (2+ year)
• Knowledge of container orchestration frameworks (Kubernetes)
• Experience in Agile methodology

Technical stack required:

• Languages: Bash, Python, SQL
• IaC: Terraform
• Big Data Frameworks Operations: Databricks
• Database operations: relational (SQL Server) & non-relational (MongoDB, ELK, Cassandra)
• Cloud operation: Azure & K8s
• Network administration; TCP/IP, HTTP requests, routing, firewalling
• CI/CD flows & tools: Azure DevOps
• Monitoring and alerting tools: Azure Monitoring, Grafana

Technical stack appreciated:

• Languages: Scala, Java, .NET, PowerShell
• Big Data Frameworks: Kafka, Kubernetes, Snowflake…

Soft skills and competencies:

• Fast adaptation to changing requirements and strong problem-solving skills.
• Passion for learning new tools, languages and frameworks.
