Oracle Database Administrator (m/f/d)

 

The impact you will create

  • Build and maintain high available Oracle databases taking into account all relevant security guidelines
  • Backup and recovery of the databases to protect them from data loss and to refresh test systems
  • Monitoring of database performance and tuning the systems
  • Migration of databases partly incorporating downtime minimized techniques like Oracle Data Guard
  • Working with tickets for incidents, problems and requests within our helpdesk system (Service Now)
  • Analysing database error situations
  • Administration of the databases in the Oracle Cloud Control System
  • Encrypting database content
  • Proactive enhancements of the overall platform
  • Provide Consulting services for our customers
  • Participation at our on-call services

 

 

Experience and skills you will need

  • University degree in information technology or comparable education
  • Good knowledge and experience in Oracle database administration
  • Knowledge of other database technologies such as PostgreSQL is an advantage
  • Passion for continuous optimization and automation (eg. Python, Ansible)
  • Good knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems
  • English language – advanced level
  • German language (working experience) is a +
  • Very good communication abilities, team spirit
  • Ability to work independently with little or no daily supervision
  • Escalation competence, tasks and ticket prioritization
  • Ability to document
  • Initiative
  • Willingness to learn
  • Flexibility to changes
