The impact you will create:

• Own the end-to-end design, deployment, and management of PostgreSQL and MariaDB
  in production Kubernetes environments.
• Ensure databases are highly available, secure, and resilient, with robust monitoring and
  alerting.
• Continuously tune and optimize queries, schemas, and configurations to support growth
  at massive scale.
• Automate operational tasks and database lifecycle management using Kubernetes
  operators, Helm, and scripting.
• Contribute upstream when needed, submitting patches or fixes for PostgreSQL, MariaDB,
  or related tooling.
• Conduct in-depth troubleshooting and root cause analysis, implementing durable
  solutions.
• Collaborate with developers and platform engineers to integrate databases seamlessly
  into applications.

Experience and skills you will need:

• Experienced database engineer with deep expertise in PostgreSQL and/or MariaDB in
  production environments.
• Skilled in query optimization, indexing strategies, replication, and high availability
  database architectures.
• Proficiency in deploying and managing databases with Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm
  charts.
• Prior experience contributing to open-source projects or upstream communities
  (databases, Kubernetes operators, etc.) is a plus.
• Effective communicator, with the ability to clearly express complex ideas in both written
  and verbal formats.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, proactively taking ownership
  of challenges.
• Team player with a strong sense of responsibility for the availability and health of our
  production systems.
