The impact you will create:

• Product Development & Architecture: You actively shape the architecture and future of our Managed Database Services (e.g., PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, SQL Server, Redis) throughout the entire lifecycle. You design robust, scalable, and highly available database solutions within a Kubernetes-based environment.
• Stability & Reliability: As a Lead, you are responsible for maintaining and optimizing the availability of our database infrastructure. You implement Site Reliability Engineering practices to ensure fault tolerance and data integrity.
• Automation (DBaaS): You drive the automation of deployment, backup, and patching processes. Your goal is a "self-service" database model controlled via REST APIs (based on Golang).
• Performance & Capacity Planning: You analyze database workloads, optimize queries and configurations, and ensure through proactive planning that our cloud landscape scales according to our customers' needs.
• End-to-End Responsibility: We live by the principle of "You build it, you run it." You accompany your services from the first line of code through release management to incident analysis (Post-Mortem analysis), supported by our internal service teams.
• Technical Mentoring: You lead the team toward technical excellence, share your knowledge of database internals, and support your colleagues in continuously improving their skills in software development and operations.

Experience and skills you will need:

• Passion for Cloud & Data: You are eager to help shape Europe's digital sovereignty and bring deep experience with database technologies and cloud environments.
• Database Expert: You have profound knowledge in the operation and design of relational (e.g., PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL databases, as well as topics such as high availability, replication, and backup strategies.
• Software Engineering Skills: You are proficient in development with Golang and have experience in building APIs (REST, gRPC) to control infrastructure.
• Container-Native: You are highly familiar with containerized system landscapes, ideally with experience in Kubernetes Operators for database orchestration.
• Automation & Tooling: You are able to write Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) and feel at home in the monitoring ecosystem (Prometheus, Grafana).
• Analytical Thinking: Troubleshooting of your service, complex performance bottlenecks and processing incidents within the framework of problem management are exciting challenges for you.
• Communication: Your excellent communication skills in German and English enable smooth cooperation within our international, agile teams.
