As a brand of the IT and digital division Schwarz Digits, our divisions are divided into Commerce Platforms, Marketing Tech & Enablement, Payment, New Digital Business Models and SCRM Loyalty Platforms.
What you'll do
- You are part of the Shopping Platform Hub, and work in the Domain Data & Personalisation, responsible for developing Machine Learning and Deep Learning models to support Lidl’s Search Engine
- You develop scalable solutions for challenges like Named Entity Recognition (NER), query and attribute harmonization and smart catalogue indexation
- You explore use cases for large language models (LLMs) as well as other text and image transformer models
- You work together with data scientists, data engineers, and backend developers in the Search product, as well as within the wider Data & Science community in Lidl Digital
- You support the company with your technical expertise and drive best data science practices and continuous improvements across the organization
- You work in a cloud environment (Azure, Google) using Python and PySpark
What you'll need
- Educational background: You have completed your Bachelor or Master studies in Data Science, Computer Science, or a similar field
- Professional background: 2-4 years of experience as a Data scientist, Data engineer, or Data analyst
- Data Science: You have strong command of Python, specifically machine and deep learning libraries. You gained first experience in data and machine learning pipelines. Experience with other programming languages is a plus
- Tech stack: You have first-hand experience in at least one Cloud Environment, preferably Azure. Experience in other cloud environments is a plus. You write clean code and appreciate code review
- Ability to see the bigger picture: You can analyse and understand business needs. You can use data science to satisfy these needs and support business-decision making
- Curious mindset: You love using data to find solutions to real-world problems
- Keep learning: You are interested in language/text models and are motivated to keep pace with the best practices
