Schwarz Digits creates the technological foundation for digital sovereignty in Europe. As the IT and digital division of the Schwarz Group, we develop and manage the IT infrastructures for the retail divisions Lidl and Kaufland, as well as Schwarz Production and PreZero. At the same time, we operate as an independent provider in the external market to support companies across Europe in their digital transformation. We bundle our core services in the areas of Cloud, Cyber Security, Data & AI, Communication, and Workspace.

Join us and contribute to digital sovereignty in Europe. With us, you will work at the intersection of agility and security: You will benefit from fast decision-making processes, enjoy genuine creative freedom in your projects, and be able to build upon the stable foundation of the Schwarz Group.

Your Tasks

  • You design and develop the Telemetry Router as a sovereign cloud service, focusing on high-volume data collection, transformation, and secure routing (Sources, Transforms, and Sinks)
  • You extend our system architecture by identifying and implementing relevant open-source projects (e.g., OpenTelemetry) to capture logs, metrics, and traces, ensuring their seamless flow through the router
  • You develop Kubernetes operators to automate the life cycle of the Telemetry Router service and its configuration
  • You develop and maintain REST APIs that allow our customers to programmatically access and control their telemetry routing and data transformation lifecycles
  • You take ownership in an agile "You Build It - You Run It" environment, acting as a bridge between development and SRE
  • You conduct complex data flow and pipeline analyses to ensure data integrity and compliance, identifying bottlenecks and implementing sustainable fixes in the router

Your Profile

  • You have deep enthusiasm for Software Engineering, Cloud-Native Observability, Data Pipelining, and SRE
  • You actively own the entire software development lifecycle, go and k8s being your bread and butter - k8s operators preferably also a part of your arsenal
  • You are experienced with - or eager to master - the Vector framework and high-performance data transformation
  • You understand the security, auditing, and compliance needs of event data in today's cloud environment services
  • You enjoy discovering new technologies (e.g. OpenTelemetry) and are excited about sharing your knowledge with the community and the team
  • You don't just look at dashboards; you understand the underlying telemetry data structures and how to optimize the routing for integrity and cost-efficiency
